TMJ Disorders - Clenching/Grinding

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ/TMD) disorders are often difficult to determine the factors causing patient discomfort. Often, discomfort may be a result of a combination of factors including arthritis, clenching, genetics, grinding, etc. TMJ disorders may present in a myriad of ways including, but not limited to:

  • Pain/Tenderness of the jaw
  • Pain/Discomfort on one or both temporomandibular joints
  • Aching/Ringing within and around the ear
  • Pain/Difficulty chewing food
  • Locking/Stiffness of the jaw joints and muscles
